Renewal 2026

In accordance with the CPD Policy of Council, Medical and Dental Practitioners should accrue 15 credits points per annum from a minimum of 3 events from 3 categories.

Annual Retention Fee

Practitioners are to contact their CPD Providers to ensure that their CPD attendance lists are uploaded onto MDC CPD Providers Portal.

Practitioners in the Diaspora holding valid licences from their respective regulatory agencies do not require to present CPD credit points for purposes of renewal of their licences.

Your annual retention fee for 2026 should be paid not later than 31st December, 2025.

Payment Methods

Practitioners are to pay their retention fees for 2026 by using any of the following methods indicated below:

MDC Ecobank MOMO Pay

To use our Ecobank MOMO pay option kindly follow the steps below:

  • •Dial *725# on your mobile money number
  • •Select 1 (Merchant Payments)
  • •Select 1 (Pay Merchant)
  • •Enter Till Number (32632565)
  • •Enter amount to be paid (Specific Amount to be paid)
  • •Enter Description (Specific Description starting with your Name and the purpose of payment. e.g. Dr XXXXX - Retention 2026)
  • •Select 1 to confirm payment
  • •Enter mobile money pin to approve transaction
  • •You will receive a confirmatory text message
  • •Take a snapshot of the confirmatory message
  • •Then go onto the practitioners' portal (portal.mdcghana.org) to complete your online renewal
  • •Complete the renewal form online by following the prompts
  • •After completing the form click the Next button, and upload a snapshot of the MOMO pay confirmatory message

Pay In-Person at any Ecobank Branch

To pay using the pay-in services at any of the ECOBANK branches, kindly follow the steps below:

MDC Account Details:

  • Account name: Medical and Dental Council
  • Account number: 1441001134216
  • Branch: Okponglo
  • •Pick your pay-in form
  • •Enter the specific description starting with your name (name of practitioner whose licence is being renewed) and the purpose of the payment. (e.g. Dr. XXX - Retention 2026)
  • •Then take a snapshot of the pay-in slip
  • •Then go onto the practitioners' portal (portal.mdcghana.org) to complete your online renewal
  • •Complete the renewal form online by following the prompts
  • •After completing the form click the Next button, and upload a snapshot of the pay-in slip

Walk-In Services at any of Council's Offices

  • •Pay the appropriate Retention fee using either the ECOBANK MOMO pay or the walk-in payment services at any ECOBANK Branch
  • •Download or pick up a registration form from any of the offices
  • •Complete the form and submit same together with pay-in slip to any of the offices in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, Koforidua or Sunyani
  • •Ask the registration official for help, if need be

Please Note the Following

  • •Cash will NOT be received at any of our offices (Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, Koforidua or Sunyani).
  • •The MOMO Pay confirmatory message or Pay-in-slip must bear the name of the practitioner whose licence is being renewed.
  • •Your MOMO Pay confirmatory message or Pay-in-slip must reach MDC offices not later than 31st December, 2025.
  • •When you submit the MOMO Pay confirmatory message or a scanned copy of your pay-in-slip online, do not submit a hard copy of same to the various offices. The head office will issue a receipt and place it on your file. Evidence of renewal will be shown on your MDC Practitioners Portal. This is to avoid double issuance of receipts.
  • •The Council's WhatsApp platform is not one of the methods prescribed for the renewal of licences.
